That Lytaloy crank on the second one you posted would be worth £200.00 in its own right!

Are there any good suggestions of where to build up my tandem in south london? Does it matter?

I built mine up in my garden? Edwardes (Camberwell) have helped me out before, but they didn't half moan about having it around.

He actually came by yesterday to view it before I posted this up...! Unfortunately the standover wa a bit too much for the stoker

We absolutely loved it. I never thought an inseam measurement would be an issue in our relationship ;)

Ha! This.
I'm wondering whether the Bob Jackson would actually be a better fit for me and my stoker than our current machine, which is 58cm (stoker) and 60cm (pilot). Could just swap over the groupsets...
Strong possibility that I'm just coming up with a way to give myself another tandem project.

Did a great tandem ride around Hertfordshire yesterday - would love to ride with a few more. Any chance of a forum tandem ride any time this summer?
PS that Bob Jackson is lovely, I'd snap it up but it just won't fit...

We'd be keen on a multi-tandem ride. A London to Brighton run or something similar. Would be a good spectacle!

• #346
getting multiple tandems on a train back from brighton = fun!

Got to be down some pretty main roads?I imagine the A23 was involved :-)
The method back then was to start at first light just south of London and ride in and out before the rush hour, then you only get a lot of traffic in Brighton, and you finish back where you started.
One of the reasons why few attempts are made on RRA records this days is that it's almost impossible to avoid heavy traffic pretty much anywhere at any time, and the roads have been adjusted accordingly, with many more traffic lights etc.
I'm considering selling my mercian tandem. What are they worth these days? I havent seen them on the website so are they no longer being made? The condition is great although its getting on a bit
