A bit of an improvement on the old ones which used to crack around the seat clamp. Had a look at a Hoy the other day - surprisingly stiff around the BB. The chainstays are a special shape and the downtube is beefy so it really is rock solid for power transfer. There probably isn't much noticeable difference between the two for performance so best go with the one you prefer the looks and geometry of. We all thought the Hoy would be hard to beat in the arena of mid priced alloy
