  • He says, while taking a choux bun from his £200 leather musette.

  • I've found a Danish pastry is a better fit to the musette shape. Or Frazzles.

  • I reckon @31trum could make you a musette for significantly less dorrah.

  • Pain au chocolate surely is the correct shape.

  • Pain-au-chocolate-cave?

  • It's a ridiculous idea that to occasionally splash out on a cycling jersey that costs north of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS you have to be working in the City.

I don't know what the average number of cycling jerseys purchased per cyclist per year are, but let's say for the sake of argument it's two and the average cost of a Rapha jersey is £110.

That's £220 a year, when the average UK salary is £26,500 or £1758 a month after tax. 1% of the average net income is £211. I'm sure I've read that cyclists earn more than average too.

  • I'd like to have watched him smashing the keyboard keys as he wrote that 'article', the rage would have been fascinating viewing.

  • Did I read the same article, he just explained Rapha's market and the direction cycling/consumption is moving. Hardly an angry piece..

  • To be honest I only read as far as 'the city'...moan...crumble...buyers....

too busy browsing custom titanium trouser Clips for Well dressed sufferer.

  • I was skim reading long before that point

  • Conquista carries no torch for Rapha. For all its “investment in cycling”, Rapha is fearsomely commercially-minded, and sometimes genuinely cynical. Founder Simon Mottram is undoubtedly a cycling enthusiast. However, he is also a professional "luxury brand consultant", who bought the "Rapha" name from a defunct French team and hired an army of designers and marketers quite consciously to exploit the (mostly juvenile) fantasies of his (mostly male) customers

Have you even read it? It's a big fat moany piece of shit writing.

  • He's definitely been wearing wellies when writing.

  • Classic Jersey mkII tomorrow.

  • Aren't you a charmer!

Some perfectly reasonable points made there. Especially the 'art-of-suffering' thing, which is just fucking awful.

  • but in no way as bad as the article's art of whinging

  • I didn't really see much whinging to be honest, let alone anger.

  • I'm with the Bear, its lazy, old, boring bollocks we have all heard many times on shit forums.

  • Are most of these things not true?

I own a few bits from Rapha and like it, but it's hardly a charity. You can't deny it is a profit making company that does things like marketing to sell its products and targets specific audiences in doing so..

  • It's literally 99% bullshit.

  • le sigh, it's been few weeks now since they received my exchange and a week since they've not replied for my emails

  • What happened to the Classic Jersey from the sale?
All sizes were available but now off the site- they must have loads left somewhere as new range comes out soon
