  • Completely agree, but it's the Standard - my expectations weren't that high.

  • I was cycling past like 1-2min after. I think I was on the south side of E+C when it happened.

I'm sure the desire to keep as high as possible motorised traffic capacity was a factor. It's been clear as the works go on that corners are cut to keep traffic flowing over safety and it shows in some of the designs too.

  • When I've been there recently I've quite enjoyed the new above ground pedestrian routes, but didn't realise the subways were permanently gone. They were great. There aren't many public subways that are actually nice spaces, I liked all the murals. Waterloo roundabout makes an effort too, I guess.

  • Well I ended up getting in a scrap with a rathe unpleasant van driver who nearly ran me over at about 9.45 this morning at the proctor street/high holborn junction.

Thankfully some nice people intervened to stop it getting too out of hand but not a good way to start monday morning

  • After being the female version of boogerman for 6 days, I am now again capable of cycling...to work...

Dry and sunny and not windy, so a good start :)
Need to change stem length/position on the Weigh, it's a little too low/long atm.

  • Had a very Zen ride in, having not cycled since last week. Not even the builder undertaking on his squeak arsed MTB, the 7 or so sheep all going through the red lights or even the driver who decided to try and turn left across my path without indicating, what did get my goat was the poxy cold shower in work.

  • squeaky arsed MTB ridden by a guy with grey joggers and a hairy butt crack?

  • Black fella, Hi-viz work vest, red joggers, work boats. Unconfirmed hairy butt crack. Liked to ride as close to the kerb as possible. Wasn't a fan of red lights.

  • I've given up being angry on my way to work. It's the future, guys!

Absolutely! Welcome to the club. Praise the good, ignore the bad ...

  • Van decided to beep at me for filtering in front of him in stationary traffic on Southwark Bridge.. much satisfaction in riding away after a few words knowing it would take him at least 10 light changes to get across the bridge

  • You do realise that to your average van driver the a front of a cyclist overtaking them is a kind to you screaming through his window "you have a small cock"

  • My new commute takes me via Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park. It's awesome in the mornings and even more fun in the evenings!
Only now I have realized how stressful it was to use CS7/all major routes to central London. No more RLJing, rugby socks wearing, wobbly shitty MTBrs. No more white vans and cabs. Almost no traffic at all. 10 miles of pure bike joy.

  • Wish I could join you both in happy land. This am was pretty bad for stupid close passes at 40-60mph (Them not me) on roads that were plenty wide enough to give me more than 2 foot. I effing c'ed rather a lot, not that it did me any good or was even heard.

  • Be a thanker not a w.........

  • Very strange deliberate close overtake this morning. I was about 10 metres behind a queue of cars at a red light, the junction where Hackney Road crosses Kingsland Road to meet Old Street. Bloke in the car behind me is revving hard for a few seconds then I see his bonnet coming across my front wheel from the right, I swerve to evade, he's barely past me before he stops at the back of the queue.

I point at the red light and say "what was that for" and he's absolutely purple, fuming and making gestures like he wants to hit me. His passenger is just staring straight ahead of her, perhaps this isn't her first time.

Shake my head and carry on. Was calmed down by the nice chap behind me. Just baffling.

  • Do you know who he fucking is?!??!

  • You just had a close call with...the one...the only....

  • Yes. I'm thinking of combining this with dropping a few gear inches.

Edit: That might have something to do with current atmospheric conditions. Windy, innit?

  • I dont know who that is

  • Will Smith?

  • Monday. Cunts be forgetting how to drive. Stabby stabby killy killy
