That looks really nice.
Do you have everything to build it? -

I always wanted to go see the shop in Croydon, especially since I owned
a Roberts, and stupidly never did... Until yesterday, attending a work meeting at a supplier a few doors down. Didn't even know beforehand I'd be close to it!
I had to take a picture, and it's not even a fraud, Winston having worked there for so long!

I'm probably going to take the parts off the Harry Quinn and then sell the F&F to subsidize the new bike. I've a few bits in the shed that might work too.

Except you're gonna put drops on the Roberts right?
No pressure...

I've a set of nitto b123s so will probably swap around depending on mood. I think the Roberts might be a shade smaller so depending what's more comfortable too

It'll be the commuter but the setup will change - risers/drops/mudguards. Might try and do the DD or a Brighton run on it. It's got the bottle cage holes (which the mercian doesn't) so bit more practical. I've some DA 7600 hubs that now have an excuse to get built up

The frame arrived, pretty good condition considering age. BB and headset need a bloody good service.
Biggest issue is I thought it had a 22" top tube, turns out it's 21" so basically a 53.3cm. At 5'11" going to have to see what it's like with a longer stem. Hopefully I can squash myself onto it or this might be back up for sale.

Can I join in?
Purleeease;-)A few pics of my bike.
Bought from @sacredhart before xmas, it came in a pale, sparkly green which I seriously considered keeping but in the end went with my teenage demands (first decent road bike was a post office red Roberts:-)
Got it sprayed at Mario's and Winston checked it over and confirmed it was a nice one for a good price. Had a 105 groupset (didn't want to go retro as I actually want to ride it;-) and Ti Rolls already, bought a Cinelli stem and some Piega bars for the cockpit. Built the wheels up (Kinlin R31 on Novatec) and threw some Veloflex Masters on as this is most definitely only for sunny days:-)
Had a shake down ride and it's pretty sweet!

@Ivanskavinsky excellent work!

Yay!
Thanks man, sorry I couldn't keep the green, I changed it from 'winter trainer' to summer poseur;-)
Thanks again, I'm really chuffed with it:-) -

Very nice @Ivanskavinsky
A little bit of me wants to see this Red, with Ultegra, with 'Roberts' in matching grey, with maybe a gold outline......
ideas....forming.....
-
• #268
Ah man!
Don't do that to me! That's an annoyingly sexy idea:D
I had originally wanted to go Ultegra but funds just didn't allow, and I wanted to get it out in the sun.
Mario actually got the full black font by putting black boxing under the outline font as we couldn't find original Clarendon in full. Could work as a way of doing the grey and gold...
Thanks, bugger! ;-) -

Grabbed a coffee at cycle PS on my way this morning and saw your Roberts...
Noice! -

Evening folks. As predicted it's up for sale as I don't want to get attached to something that long term would be too small,
Thrasher isn't keen so just so people here know I've posted for sale

It's your bike that made me want to have a Roberts years ago!
Reminds me I need to find time to rebuild mine...
I won the auction, got a Roberts frame coming my way.......sweet!
