  • I found the Runners Need in Canary Wharf great. Jumped on their treadmill, recommend shoes to correct my Supination. Would bang again.

  • I have these . Side pockets and plenty of other storage ones as well.

  • @hats wrote a little blog post for ya

  • Give us a link then!

  • Brilliant! I feel like a right sloth.

  • +1 Runners Need, Canary Wharf. If the same guy's in charge he's a keen runner and distinctly non-salesman-like, in a good way. They also have a good price-match policy against online goods.

I think the jury's still out on the value of "gait analysis" by treadmill/video, but short of having a proper biomechanical assessment with an expert, at least it gives you a chance to try on a number of shoes from different manufacturers whilst actually running. Go for the ones that fit best and feel most comfortable.

Avoid Sweatshop, and their sales staff who are incentivised (I believe) to try and sell you Karrimor shoes and/or expensive insoles.

  • Sounds good!

On a slightly related note - are you planning on doing any local fell runs? Tempted to give some a go this year...

Ian Roberts Memorial March 6th in Marsden, a 10km flag marked tussocky route & best cake spread evah at the finish before hitting up the Riverhead Brewery Tap. Enter on day.

I'll be looking for some that take in some DtD sections also as part of prep.

  • Cheers for the links.

  • Seemed to have accidentally entered the green man ultra, any one done this?

  • Accidentally entered an ultra? Nope, never done this.

  • This was one I'd considered when looking at options, too soon for me tho but looks fun.

  • Cool, might see if I can get myself over for it!

  • Unless I got a hottie, I would almost certainly end up killing who ever I was chained to. Spine confirmed to me that I'm a right moody bastard.

  • Good luck anyone running this weekend knarly outdoors

  • Yeah fuck this. Maybe tomorrow eh?

  • racing in the morning
    early night

Sorry, I think I'll just return to Wiggle, besides I found some more (albeit not in Black) for a bargain price here:

    Hope this helps!

  • Last long+hard run complete ahead of Wokingham, 1:29 and change for 13.1 miles, pretty much bang on the plan, just need 4 more minutes from being fresh!

  • Looking good. You get more than four minutes just by pinning a number to your chest and chasing people. Easy!

Second test run this morning since dodgy achilles kept me on the x-training for three weeks. 10 miles (untimed), a little stiff as to be expected but foot was fine. Hopefully cram in enough miles over the next couple of weeks to make a half-decent run at Wokingham, after which I'll make a decision on the 20 mile race a couple of weeks later, and whether to relinquish my hard-earned county vest. There are some pretty decent runners on the reserve list.

  • Long and easy run, HM in 2:19 but was keeping 20bpm in reserve. Now just have to keep moving so I don't stiffen up., oh and EAT ALL THE PUB LUNCH THINGS!

Had a nice chat with the Steam Ride Audax organiser in RP too as I spotted his PBP jersey.

  • You'll do that easy. I dipped under 85 minutes and didn't come close to an hour and a half on training runs.
