Ha. Bummer.

I'm home alone for the first time in 6 months. Might cook a steak get wasted on red wine and crank up the Tele and Champ. My only neighbours are upstairs but they're cool and also noisy record company peeps who will not care.

The only kink in my plan is that i've up since 4am last night and most nights for oh, about six months. I'm waxy pale, sunken-eyed hysterically tired.

I've started on the pre-dinner beers already.

Let's do this. This flat may be sold tomorrow.

I'm now looking at hardware for the Ventures MkII/Les Paul Jr guitar... I've got an uncompensated wrapover bridge in my spares box (no posts) but need a P90, a volume pot and machines...

Lollar overwound soapbar P90? Thoughts? They look good, I want this guitar to be hot... Maybe I should measure the output on my '58s P90? If it sounded anywhere near like that I'd be well happy...

How about the pot? Not something I've ever given much thought to... What's the best?!?

Had a good chat with Tim today, such a solid dude...

He's gonna look at the amp, hopefully it's just a cap but I think it may be the transformer... Whatever it is, it's getting fixed... It sounds too good to be binned...

He also pointed me in the right direction for pickups, his favourite pickup guy is in Adelaide so I'm gonna give him a go, Brierley Guitar Pickups... He's suggested low output for a more authentic 50s vibe which will let the guitar's tone shine a bit more... He's digging me out some chrome Grovers from his stash and suggested I go with an Alpha pot... Hardware sorted!

Played my old Tele Deluxe at work today and it was awesome... I'm only just starting to realise that you need to spend at least a day with a guitar to get reacquainted... I'd only had a couple of little plays on it since getting it back from Tym's but we got proper hot and sweaty today... 10/10, bloody lovely guitar... Mine's the one on the right, my mate Jeremy has a 2010 reissue... We brought them in for an A/B session, result being they both sounded awesome...
