Ha, it's nothing like I imagined either. Was originally gonna be considerably smaller and just a tidied up version of the pic I posted.
As Pozan was super busy before Xmas he'd not drawn anything yet and as it was booked in after a few drinks just before Xmas I didn't have a consultation.
As soon as he saw the space available it made sense to go big. As big meant it'd be a swathe of grey inside the blade I have him free reign to do what he wanted. Drew up the hornbeam leaves in about 2mins.
Needless to say it's a much much better tattoo than I was predicting. Well worth the trek down to Brighton, will def be getting more work from him. -

Detail pic from Pozan's insta. Sorry, don't know how to imbed. The pic of the full tat on there is waay better than the one I took at home as well...
As I can't really see it that easily I didn't quite realise the shading was so rad. Well chuffed.
A lesson in giving as vague a brief as possible to the artist and trusting their judgement...

The three daruma heads from Spirited Away. Never had a hand poked tattoo so it will be interesting.

LadyLiz is a yorkshire lass, have considered getting a two handed yorkshire one done as well. I think they're a bit much for hedging with usually. I prefer a devon pattern with less of a hook for work.
Hedgelaying thread>>>>>>Tat is healing well..

Why get tattoo'd by someone from London while in Japan? Go to Three Tides and get something traditional and awesome.

Who should I look at in London to do an old black and white pocket compass?
Someone that can do beautiful intricate detail in black/white tones -

Oliver Mackintosh at Frith Street tattoo does some amazing single needle detailed stuff, he'd nail it.

So I am going to give Dermalize a go with my upcoming pieces. Now the retail per cut sheets are a lot more expensive compared to a roll.
Per-cut (15cm x 10cm) - about 90p / sheet
Roll to cut to same size ^ - about 30p / sheetI would probably go through the whole roll eventually, but might be a long while, so anyone up for sharing?
I am thinking to cut them up in long stripes (like 1m or sth) and post them out to you or we could meet at my work etc. Anyone??

Ahah yes, had both done at the same time. Ride home was not pleasant.

I am having one of my thighs done in a month time, about the same size, I have already factored in the cab fare home... what was the pain like? (I know it's different from person to person...)
Very nice tattoos by the way...

Taxi home isn't a bad idea aha,
As for the pain.... The script was the worst as I hate the small lining needle used. That actually felt like he was using a scalpel lol. Everything else was totally fine and I could talk and carry on as normal. But yeah everyone is different like you said.Cheers I'm very happy with them :)
