Probably not, check it's not too worn but if it's the first pad change it'll be fine. Maybe give it a clean with some isopropyl alcohol and a clean rag.

On the first ride, jam the brake on and off as you're pedaling through, without ever locking the wheel to bed the pads in with the rotor.

What is the go to hydraulic brake and lever set-up? Looking at second hand, good value but is still decent.

Shimano deore or above, zee is probs best without going saint spendy, but you can get 4 pot deore now for less.

I've always use cycle basket. ACI db are about £8 a wheel.
