• ha, lol, a 70.3 works out about £250 and a full £450, they are on closed roads with frankly insane levels of infrastructure, shuttle busses, aid stations, kit moves etc, but they are very very expensive to do, especially when you add in accommodation and kit, and training costs I cant imagine the first one could be done for less than £3k, admittedly that's with the cost of a bike as well!

    now you know why I cant afford to buy a new chainset with chainrings I don't currently need...

  • You already have a chainset so why not just buy a single large ring for these your fast TTs?

    For 1/4 the cost of a DA chainset you could have a Fibrelyte 5xT ring made to suit whatever cranks you already own.
