  • Pfar, I just keep a large wardrobe full of suits, shirts and ties at work. Much simpler.

  • Lewisham to Barnet in the persistent drizzle
    Fu.
    King.
    Yuk.

  • Decided to shower at home and do a nice gentle roll to work in my jeans and t-shirt.

Impossible to leave any required clothes at home, only slightly sweaty.

    10/10

Also, saw another fixed 2015 Genesis Flyer coming in to the City over Southwark Bridge. Bike buddies!

  • Almost pooped my pants this morning, icky stomach 2/10 ride in.

  • The snot rag on my glove has become encrusted with tears, meaning wiping my eye is effectively stabbing myself with little bits of stiffened towelling.

    Streets is cold, yo.

  • just let the tears, run down your face.
all the sympathy will be yours...

  • I have a genuine birth defect whereby my right eye has no tear drainage tube (or it's blocked at the top) meaning that happens anyway, most of the time.

I guess that's why my clothing gets crusted with tears so soften.

  • Tears in rain?

Reminds me of a film, but I can't for the life of me work out which one.

  • The story of Julian Assange's life?

  • You're thinking of "Four Weddings and a Funeral".

    "Get to da chappa"

    Classic Burt Reynolds.

  • Oliver.

There are certain standards to maintain. Certain rules to follow.

    Come along now.

  • Yes, it might be that one. Is that where Burt Reynolds jumps the car over the Sherrif's lorry?

OK, technically an android isn't alive, so perhaps 'story of its engineered existence' would have been more appropriate.

rive.gauche has just posted something about fizzy bleach which may be appropriate, perhaps fizzy.bleach could clean his tear duct that way:

    my mate phil says:

    *"followed by caustic soda crystals

    relatively dangerous bit:
eye and breathing masks and marigolds on, pour a mugful into the sinkhole and leave for 5 minutes. it'll fizz and start to heat up and produce toxic vapours.

realistically very dangerous bit, but effective:
return with a litre jug of just boiled water, double check your protective gear, and pour into the sink in one go. retreat.

once the reaction dies down, flush through with two sink bowl fulls of cold water

if caustic gets on surfaces or clothes it produces a soapy highly corrosive film, thoroughly wipe down any contaminated surfaces, still wearing your protective gear. put any contaminated clothes immediately into a cold wash or cold water bucket. if you get some on your skin, flush under cold water only for 5 minutes, there may still be chemical burning and scarring afterwards. if in the eye, flush under cold water and call an ambulance"*

he's a chemist, therefore a bit of a chancer though..

the quote function for tracts of text is shite

  • Was at E+C just as the police got the blue tarp out.

  • Fucks sake.
Poor poor woman, and her family.
    Just awful.

  • lorry driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

  • So sad.

"....in a bid to improve safety." It's half done, a mess and not safe. Why can't they just finish it?

  • Because it's just as worse as before with too many lanes and direction.

  • am i correct in my understanding that they've shitcanned all the underground walkways?

  • Apparently so.
The comments section on the Standard's report is grim.

  • A horrible tragedy. It sounds like driver error more than a problem with roadworks at the moment, but any speculation as to the events and their cause is misplaced.

  • Just awful.

The comments section on the Standard's report is grim.

    +1

  • fact that the standard feels it's acceptable to include a comments section on a report about someone's death is a fucking disgrace as well.
