Cahill is dependable and proven (if mediocre), Stones has far more potential but has not realised it yet. It could go a bit wrong for Stones still and sometimes he seems to make poor decisions. If it all goes right for Stones he'll be a hell of a player. Everton could do with a dependable defender.
