@Greenbank Have got my first marathon in April and tended to not need to eat anything under about 15 miles either. I haven't been eating differently whether it's a long run or a normal day. Porridge, protein shake and banana when I wake up. I don't have any trouble running 30mins after eating though (or eating breakfast while on the turbo) and the above doesn't leave me feeling full. I think for the marathon I'll be sticking with a similar plan and starting on the gels earlier throughout the run. May take a Clif bar or similar, as I prefer something approaching real food to sugar/gels.
Unless someone that knows what they're doing tells me otherwise...
No breakfast for a HM doesn't mean no breakfast and just gels for a marathon though right?
Breakfast and gels.
