  • So I feel like I haven't seen some of you in ages or possibly have never seen some of you so does anyone fancy beers soon? We should have had a lufguss beer festival outing really

  • I'd be down for something!

  • If there is gin, I'm in.

  • Gin Palace next week some time?

  • Would be good but to be honest it's always going to be a case of seeing how it goes on the night and turning up if I can. The Plasters also has a good selection of gin and beer to cover all tastes. Probably cheaper then the gin palace as well.

  • Has anyone got a 650B front wheel (with brake disc and tyre) that I could borrow to try out on my pomp?

  • Is anyone a member of the Norwich Cycling Swap/sell Facebook group?

I set-up a FB account and tried to join but it looks like I've been refused (presumably because an empty account looks suspicious).

I read on TTF that there's a pair of trispokes for sale there: if someone could check (maybe grab the pics and deets) I'd be most grateful.

    TIA

  • I'm not personally, but I know @Rikki and @hudsoncjnr are...

  • These ones? Looks like they're still available; how can I help?

  • 1st stage of Aviva Womans Tour to end in Norwich this year. Doesn't as yet say exactly where though.

  • You'll be getting the mankini out of storage then.....

  • By the looks of the very basic map it'll be ending in the middle of town too, rather than the Showground, which should be great. It's also my birthday, if anybody fancies a day-off to join me for a ride before/after the finish!

  • I did ask you to delete those photos...mind you I do need to top up my leg tan.

  • Afternoon Norwich-ers,

On the off-chance this is seen in time...I have a question that I have done some searches on and turned up nothing:

I'm getting the train from Liverpool St to Norwich and back tomorrow, and have gone through all the rigmarole of booking a spot in the cycle carriage, yadayada. My question is, is all that actually enforced or strictly necessary IRL? It irks me to have to be on a specific train home.

Also, I'm given to understand that one can't sit nicely next to one's steed as per Southern rail etc...is that right? Really don't want a lock with me...

Thanks for your kind assistance one and all

  • If it's the direct train from Liverpool St - Norwich, then I've never been asked for any evidence that I've booked a spot for my bike. I secure it in the guard's carriage and then sit in the next carriage along.

As much as I like to keep an eye on my bike, I don't fancy sitting on the floor for two hours :-)

  • I'm in Norwich over the weekend and was going to do a ride that heads out of the city along Marriott's Way. What's the surface like on the path, will it be ok for 23c road tyres?

  • will it be ok for 23c road tyres?

I'd prefer to go bigger, but 23s won't kill you :-)

Which section are you riding, as it actually starts out paved?

  • I've ridden it in the dry on 25s and it was fine. It got a little hairy in the sandier parts, and there's one 'transition' from section to section which goes up a very rocky gravel drive , but it was good fun and nothing to worry about.

  • there's one 'transition' from section to section which goes up a very rocky gravel drive

    Thrss, pls.

  • drayton - blackwater.

I guess I could just do the A1067 if it's too rough, but I'd rather not if possible.

    thank you

  • drayton - blackwater.

Should be fine. Just watch where you're putting your wheel.

Wouldn't fancy doing it in or just after a downpour, but the weather looks fine.

  • I've done it on 23's before. Other than the gravelly section you'll be fine although if it's muddy there may be sliding.

  • Also done it on 23s and survived!

  • They appear to have resurfaced it, rode it and it's perfect. Thanks all.
