Picked up a "black lightning" recently thanks to @D_Mars. Was gonna build it up all original Suntour and etc but ended up going with Modern Campag.

I guess I should probably cross-post this in here. I've now joined the Cannondale club.
I answered an advert for a 'Cannondale commuting bike' as I needed something sensible and it looked ideal:
It turns out it's a 1995 Cannondale M500 mountain bike. It was bought new, kitted out with everything in the picture as a commuter but the owner didn't like the position so changed the stem. (That's why it has that crazy stem.)
The owner still didn't like it so put it into the garage and it stayed there ever since. So, once home and stripped of all the extras, apart from the stem and some new tyres, it's exactly as it came from the factory - it has all the original stickers on the frame and the rims. It really does look like it was ridden two or three times, maximum.
I've got a more fitting stem on the way, replaced anything that was QR and put on some Schwalbe City Jets. Now I just want the weather to get better so I can ride it!
