Left hand thread Campag Victory chainset

Posted on
  • Trying to remove left side crank arm on Victory chainset which has left handed thread. Found the correct tool online but costs a fortune.
Is there any other way /another tool which will do the job or will I need to take it to a LBS?
    Thanks

  • If it has a LH thread, then it originally had self-extracting bolts.

Couple of different types here (towards the bottom of the page) for around a tenner.

  • Thanks very much for the information ,
I didn't explain the problem correctly . I have been able to remove the bolts but the left arm is stuck to the bb spindle. The crank puller that I have, removed the right drive side but won't remove the left side because of the different thread and this thread is for the combined dustcap and bolts . You can buy left hand thread Campag crank puller but these cost a fortune, and was wondering if there is another method to remove the crank arm.
    Sorry for the confusion

Yup: buy self-extracting crank bolts, fit self-extracting crank bolts, remove crank!

  • Sorry again,
I didn't understand but have now reread your link and it looks a good method.
    Cheers
