He's awesome. Sent him to my mate and he did an outstanding job with constantly reviewing the prods on offer and on the ball with rate changes. He saved her thousands at one point.

  • If I remember correctly, was it HSBC who don't offer their prods through brokers?

Personally I wouldn't trust them with my accounts and I work for em. :S might del this later so I don't get sacked.

  • If I remember correctly, was it HSBC who don't offer their prods through brokers?

Possibly, our guy seemed pretty keen on Santander but he got us a good deal anyway and was very fast and efficient.

  • You really don't need to do this and it'll be another credit search on your credit record etc

You need to speak to your solicitor about this and ask them about arranging an allowance, it'll be properly drafted and attached to the contract as a 'rider'. It's the easiest way of dealing with this.

  • Good.

  • No. London valley roof. Why do you ask?

  • Hilarious DIY cable hook bodge:

  • We got a nice bronze hook from somewhere online.

We only had to do that because the builder helpfully decided that it would be better to put the rose there than the place we actually marked out though, mind.

An electrician did the re-wire and the hook (originally the cord was too short).

Also, I have a 2m black and white pendant cord (unused, it was too short) and the thick grey cord that came with it, both fabric, if anyone wants them.

  • Today's moan:

Found a plumber on Tuesdsy to come today to fix the boiler, texted him the address and time, and left work early.

Called him today to confirm what time he was coming - number not recognised. Turns out I'd texted the wrong number too, so he'd never got confirmation and was told busy to call back. Now we've got to wait till next week probably, and I'm going to get rightly bollocked when She gets home.

  • Can I take you up on this kind offer - I actually was going to buy some of this to lengthen our light on the landing !

  • An electrician did the re-wire and the hook (originally the cord was too short).

    £££?

  • Yeah of course! I think you're local to me, I'll PM you the details.

  • We got more stuff done as well. Re-wiring two lights, new switches and boxes ready for some building work, two new lights wired and installed, and the pendant re-cabled and hung. £160 excluding all parts which we'd had for ages. Didn't think it was too bad for the time it took and I could have done it myself.

  • Sounds reasonable. I dont have enough tasks atm but when they pile up I'll hire someone .. did you just get someone local?

  • I've done that but she said whatever happens if the purchase price is different from the mortgage offer then she'll have to report it to the lender.

    Unless I'm explaining it wrong

  • Also if HSBC are going to re-do the offer then presumably they do another credit search?

  • I think she's got it wrong. @airtime had this problem and did exactly what I described with his solicior . purchase price at land registry was x, the price paid in reality was x minus 2 or 3/grand.

You would need to agree that the allowance was in respect of property improvements though..

    Iaalbnyl etc

  • We MyBuildered it. We've had good experience with MyBuilder (when the tradesmen have actually kept to their appointments).

We've used it for a door, carpenter, and electrician, and they have all been reliable, good value and keen to get a good rating.

    @Sumo Now where's my fee?

  • Well if @AirTime could give me some more info that would be good because currently we've reached an impass

  • I've text him to ask him to drop in

He's the worlds busiest man though so when that will be I can't guarantee !

  • there'll be a franco manca there in 2 years

  • Can but hope.
    Actually, their menu is shit.
There'll be a Gordy's there, if they are lucky...

  • My house is now up on the web:

Feel free to buy it or take the piss out of my fake grass.

Nice man. Your spice rack is VERY tidy.

I'm currently putting the finishing touches on a pre-open house tidy up for tomorrow.

Here's our wares up for sellz. I have no idea why of all the nice things about this flat, they went with the pokey and entirely unremarkable kitchen as the cover photo. Anyway. here tis.
