Dude! Mix them up with a red berry mix for a bit of BIFF-BANG-POW: the red currants will make your ears laugh! ;)

anyone know if shimano 9000 chainset is available in 55/42 and 165 combo in the UK - if so where and is it possible to find it for a non outrageous price?

Is a 13.3 inch macbook a macbook where the screen measures 13.3 inches diagonally? Thanks

Also, can anyone recommend a reputable, reliable retailer of refurbished macs, that is not the apple store?
-
• #73857
Yes, that's the way they're measured.
I'd say The Book Yard is a good place. I buy parts from there and they've always been friendly and helpful.

WD40. Apply liberally and wipe off.

Think am going for a Ritchey frameset. Am I safe buying it online from Bike24 or Triton Cycles?

Bike24 are sound, I've never dealt with Triton but they've been around long enough that we'd have heard about it if they were troublesome.

You're safe buying a frame from Bike24, but it's a bit of a PITA as they feel the need to 'advise' you about what size frame you need, and require you to fill in a long form with various body measurements so that they can confirm that you do indeed know what size frame you need. But other than that they're good to deal with. They had difficulties getting the ceramic FSA bottom bracket my Supersix frame was supposed to come with, so they threw in a ceramic Rotor one instead.

Cheers for that. I did see their 'we do not sell frames without consultation. Call us!' order. I suppose it's done with good intentions but most will know their requirements given what they sell.

• #73863
Really? Is there anything it's not good for?
-
• #73865
I can see why they do it (to stop people ordering them and returning them because they got the size wrong) but it would be nice if they had an 'I know what I'm doing, I take responsibility for my decisions' option. Then again, I feel that way about lots of things...

GT85 is a lubricant. WD40 is not. Despite the fact that many think it is.
-
• #73868
Indexing woes: if I get it shifting down ok, then it won't shift up and vice versa.
Bent hanger?
-
• #73869
Could be. Is it worse at one end of the cassette than the other?
-
• #73870
Wd40 does have lubricants in it, not that it's that important for making things look shiny.

Shitty crap in your cables? Shitty knackered chain and cassette? My Ribble was like this so I gave up and bought a new bike*.
*With disc brakes and other things the Ribble didn't have.

• #73872
WD40 is only a lubricant until it evaporates.
-
• #73873
I doubt all of it evaporates, but yeah, it's not exactly a long lasting lubricant.
-
• #73874
Neither is gt85.

• #73875
Or your mum.
I don't even like them that much. They're too perfumed with no OOMPH.
