• Here we have a selection of bike parts which all have some interesting feature or fit the general theme of the thread. Some nice bits here, but I'm also having a bit of fun selling this type of thing, so no 'serious' prices, at least I hope they're not:)

UPDATED 13/2/15, the forum's received this thread pretty well, so I've decided to update it and keep everyone happy:)
Chainrings a'plenty to start with, and a couple more Campag items that I've dug out. Note that all chainrings are alloy, and are for 3/32" chain width unless otherwise stated. And I've also rejoiced the thread so that items previously showing on the first post are now further down the thread.
UPDATED: price drops on all items, see final post on the thread for details, as I've not amended the individual prices below.

UPDATE 22/1/15: I've sold a good deal of my thread's items, but still have a good many nice/interesting items left, so have decided to consolidate under a new post, and add more stuff too (new items are the first few items below) to keep things fresh... Although I'm pretty sure this type of thread hasn't bored the forum:)

Dibs is fine, but PM me after.
And I also have this other sales thread of other (more ordinary) bike bits- wheel rims, pannier racks, mudguards blah blah blah:)
    http://www.lfgss.com/conversations/279401/#

Happy to post at cost, but would prefer collection if you're local (SE London). Postage would be Royal Mail's standard rate of £2.80, or normal 2nd class rate if it can fit in a small jiffy envelope ie wingnuts.

    Stronglight 107 chainring
Outer 53t chainring. Came with the Stronglight 107 crankset, but of course will fit any 144 BCD cranks. Some of the graphics fading, but for the most part they're still showing. Teeth showing some wear past the chrome finish but not much farther. £5

SR Apex-5 chainring with bashguard and single speed chainring bolt set.
Outer 52t chainring with removable bashguard. 122 BCD, will probably only fit SR cranks. Teeth show slight wear. Nice SR logo on the bashguard:) £4

    Unbranded 1/8" chainring
Outer 52t chainring. 130 BCD. For 1/8" chains, so possibly a less common tooth count for this design? Brushed/matt alloy finish. Unused. £4

    Unbranded drillium chainring.
Outer 52t chainring. Fits the older, pre 144BCD type Campag cranks, and one or two others- it's 151BCD. Don't often see this size with the drillium design. Obviously a quality chainring too, judging from finish and machining on teeth, pity there's no way to tell the maker. Teeth show only minimal wear to their machining finish. £7

    Unbranded inner chainring.
Inner 42t chainring. This is another 151BCD chainring, and again no maker's name showing. This is of a similar quality to the above chainring, although tooth wear has gone past the machining here, but it's still pretty good. Possibly will look nice paired with the above outer. £5

    Zeus inner chainring
Inner 42t chainring. BCD is what seems to be that which Zeus alone use, 119bcd. Teeth showing wear, but not much farther than the finish. £5

    Unbranded inner chainring
Inner 36t chainring. 116BCD, so will fit a fair few 3 arm spider cranks, apparently mostly French ones like Nervar etc. Machining showing only on the front side for some reason (well, it is showing as being French manufactured:)), but this is largely still present, telling that there's not much tooth wear.

    Campagnolo granny chainring
Granny 32t chainring. Think the BCD on this one is 74mm. It will fit Campag's triple cranks, and many others, as this is a common size. Tooth wear is slight, showing very little use. £3

    Unbranded 1/8" chainring
Outer 48t chainring. 130BCD. For 1/8" chains. There's some noticeable tooth wear, but it's still pretty good. £3

Campagnolo Gran Turismo rear mech pivot bolt
Comes with plastic 'seal', and what I think must be the nut on the reverse side of the mech to hold it in place. Slight chrome loss showing, and a dent in the red 'C' badge. Threads good and no other damage. £3

Campagnolo Record Titanium rear mech hanger bolt
Bolt for the above mech, and yes, it is titanium:) Threads good and no other damage. £5, mostly on account of it being titanium, but also just a nice object to have:)
NB I also have a good few other vintage Campag hanger bolts, in a variety of lengths and designs- if you need one, andmight know how you can identify the one fitting your model, get in touch and I'll check if I've the one you need.

    Campagnolo umbrella pump clip
A band on pump clip. Chrome showing some loss but not too noticeable, and it's a nice object:) Bolt and nut included not the original ones. £3

    Deda Logo stem
This one is a minute 5.5cm length stem. 1 1/8" steerer fitting, and 25.4cm bar clamp. A few tiny scratches here and there but still smart looking. £5

    A hub attaching widget
Found this on a quality retro front wheel but have no idea what it is:) For what it is, I would class it as a fairly involved widget, judging from the fact that the central black band is made from a rubbery and magnetic material, so clearly it's more than just some kind of packaging attachment etc. It attaches around the hub flanges- the wheels were 80's, so maybe this placement was the preferred location for bike computer magnets (explaining it's magnetic ability?) in those early bike computer days. Anyhow, I'm freecycling this, but... the recipient must tell me its function before I give it away:)

    Campag catalogue and user manuals
Includes a 2007 catalogue, as well as various user manuals that I can see date from the period Campag had monoplanar brake calipers. Catalogue condition good, others a bit tatty. £4

    T-Gear Cannibal clip-on TT bars
Early 90s bars and would look to fit 25.4mm bars. Pads showing little use. These look to be width adjustable by clamping the clamps at the desired point where you want the pads to be with the bar's u shape bending inwards a little, so the pads don't need to be so spread out as seen in the pic. £5

    Ariake Jaguar II saddle
NJS stamped. This is an unpadded leather covered saddle that probably compares well to a lot of the stripped racing saddles that some prefer. Leather cover and the perforated base probably help out over longer distances. A few gouges on the back of the leather cover, and scuffs on the sides but otherwise very nice. £15

    Unbranded wingnuts
For front wheel use. These are alloy with steel dropout gripping part. Threads all good. Chrome a bit patchy on one. £3

  • Bianchi carbon chainset
This would be a fine chainset, barring an issue with the non driveside crank. This is due to the pedal thread insert giving some play. The previous owner contacted Bianchi to be advised that carbon resin bonding (I can see he's tried this) sometimes secures inserts that have taken a knock causing play, but there's still play:( As such, I'm selling the chainset as spares or repair, but this would make an excellent chainset if you can find a Bianchi non-ds crank, or want a super stiff/stylish/light carbon set of cranks, with the non-ds one being any spare 175mm carbon crank. And even if you only want them for the Campag chainrings, keeping the cranks as ornaments, you've a good buy:) Cranks and chainrings in very good cosmetic condition, and chainrings are starting to show wear but will still give many years usage. Threads all good. £12

    Syncros track stem
This stem is 1" steerer fitting and for 25.4mm bars. Stem down sloping angle is a pretty severe, track type one, but I couldn't advise what degree it is. Condition pretty nice, bar the fact that logos on both sides have almost completely rubbed away. £8

    MAXX BMX type seatpost clamp
From memory it's 25.4mm seatpost fitting, but I'll have to check on this. Looks pretty much new. £1

    KMC BMX/freestyle chain
96 links left, so hardly cut down. Design described on the box as super fat:) 1/2" x 3/16". Chain almost new, fitted but not used. £5

    M Brev grips
Not cut down, although there's a tear in the end of one from attaching a fitment to the bar end. Can't see any real wear. Very purple:) £2

    Shimano Altus front mech
Down pull design. For double chainrings. Haven't got a clue what this fits onto:) Maybe some kind of MTB? Can't see any wear on it besides where it was fitted to the frame/whatever. £3

Shimano 100GS brake levers and shifter
IMO these have a real 80s retro look to them. They're low end, but if they look right with the kit on your frame... Only the front mech shifter's included, can't find the rear one. This shifter appears to be for double chainring shifting only. It's a little gunked up with old grease so I will flush it with WD40 before its sold. Levers and shifter are mechanically sound, with all parts included and adjusting bolts moving freely. All parts show scuffs here and there, and the right hand lever end has scraped a wall which removed the tip of the plastic coating. Shifter is for the front mech. £7

    SDG Bel-Air ST I-beam saddle
This is in excellent condition, no signs of use visible besides a scrape on the back. I-beam seatposts can still be bought new for this design. £12

    Look 80s clipless pedals
These are a pair of very early Look clipless pedals. Mechanically, these are fine and spin freely with no play and feel to the hand to have been regreased at some point not too long ago. But cosmetically, they're showing their age, with the paintwork showing a fair few scratches and chips. £7

  • dibs forks, and skewer, if I can collect tomorrow afternoon or preferably sunday from central? (no bike with me this weekend)

  • Continued...

Shimano Positron 400 rear mech and shifter set-up
Looks to be set up for 5 speed indexed usage, but I'm not sure if it's adjusted correctly as is, having never used this rigid inner gear cable design before. Very good condition and jockey wheels showing little wear. Shifter clamp is the handlebar stem mount type. £8

    Titanium crank bolt
Can't see any sign of wear/damage. Very useful if you've lost one of these and don't fancy buying an expensive replacement set of two. £2

    Specialized Cannibal bottle cage set
Can't see any signs of use. £5

Specialized x2, Bontrager, Cannondale, Jazz and Elite bottle cages, two show noticeable wear, but the others have nothing to speak of. £1 each.

    Thomson Elite inline seatpost
Diameter is the more unusual 28.6mm size. Length 330mm. Some wear to the anodizing, mostly lower down. No other wear showing. £15

    Bontrager adjustable stem
12cm length when laid flat. 1 1/8" steerer fitting, and for 25.4mm diameter bars. Notched adjustment, and shows markings from 0 to 60 degrees. Anodizing showing some wear, but nothing too bad. £4

  • Campag pump adapter/frame bracket
Will allow some older type frame fitting pumps to be used, as an alternative to the more modern hose between pump and innertube valve. Also makes a nice desk ornament:) Looks to work ok, and all bits present. £4

    Pletscher kick stand
A nicely vintage and quality looking kickstand. Requires a special braze on bracket on the underside of your chainstays, for fitment. Or a detachable bracket your lbs might have. £2

    Shimano 600 AX oval seatpost
In pretty much excellent condition. This is a version of Shimano's aero seatpost which is designed to fit oval shaped seat tubes. They actually made at least two seatposts for different oval shaped seat tubes, my one being designated B-type (in case you know the details of the one you're looking for). Comparing it to the very similar E-type, my one has a smaller oval section, measuring 29mm x 18.5mm. Shimano bothered to reduce the top half aero (as opposed to oval) section's thickness by a minute amount only, compared to the thickness of that frame insertion section below, so it would seem that this particular thickness must give the best aero performance, seeing as there's no other differences, like aero profiling, to seperate the two sections:) Needless to say, this is a pretty rare item, so £15

    Dead Logo Big stem
For 1 1/8" steerer tubes, and for 31.8mm/oversized bars. Length 7.5cm. Fine condition, bar a few rub marks. £4

    Raleigh track(?) stem
For 1" steerer tubes, and 25.4mm bar size. 12.5cm length. This looks like a track type stem due to the downward only design/quite severe angle. Not sure what thew exact angle measures though. In pretty good condition, bar some rub marks. £4

    Cateye vintage computer
Checked that this was working a few weeks ago. Includes all the fittings, including the magnet spoke attachment that was just outsider of the frame, in my pic. Looks to be a 90s computer. Functions are fewer than a modern day one, but covers all the basics. Edit: found a battery for this now, so will include. £3

    Campag toeclip straps end tabs
new tabs with fittings. If you need toeclip strap tabs, then here they are:)
    £1.50

  • No problem, but please pm me to arrange things.

  • Yup pm sent. I think I'll grab the cranks as well please.

  • Dead/Deda (prefer dead though :-) ) Logo Big stem.

  • Your mystery item is, drum role please..... Avocet 30 Cycle Computer wheel magnet, quite a rare item always got lost, fetch good doh on the bay.......

  • Hey, thanks very much:)))
This has been a fair bit of a niggling head-scratcher for me, and I'm sure a few other forumers will never have seen anything like it either:)
But I might just leave it on here for a while since I've found that there's a surprisingly good number of people interested in many of my off the beaten track bike bits, so one of them might need this. But they'll need to show me their Avocet computer (I will get to see how these 80s computers did their retro thing) before I'd hand over the widget, and if no one claims it it can go on the 'bay.

  • dibs positron 400 bits

  • Deda stem sold!

  • En route to London, should be seeing you in a few hours for my bits. Will text you

  • Campag pump whatsit and toe strap pulls please.

Yes, you're yet another forumer who knows of this widget- surprised
that no one actually needing one has claimed it:)

And I should mention that the above Shimano Positron dibs was cancelled, so still available.
