I need a new helmet, I can't wear a hat under my current one without developing a mighty headache as it's just too small.
However- either I've missed it or no-ones released anything interesting for ages, are we about to see a bunch of new releases which I should wait for?

Just got a foray aswell, spot on for the money. Looks like a more expensive lid

Cheers for the recommendations. I went for an Evade in the end on the lazy grounds that the fit would be good. It's bang on and I like the height adjustment. It's also really quiet compared to the Echelon.

Casco has been updating their road offerings every year. The Speedairo and Speedster seems to have grown into a family.

this is the main problem. I should probably replace my helmet but everything is either aero and ugly as fuck or just ugly as fuck. Where the nice lids at?

Bontrager velocis?
Based on the fact that it looks OK, and seems to cover the back of the head.
Aero Road helmets are a revelation for me. But that's only because I'm bald and live in a bloody cold place.

Been looking for ages to replace a cracked Specialized, ended up picking Lazer from my LBS - To my eyes looks significantly better than the £60 price tag and fits nicely

Beauty is in the eye of.... that aside I find the Casco helmets attractive. The Warp is still a very common sight on the ovals. The Speedtime is a bit "Space Ranger" but very well designed and darn fast. Most people are, I think, put off by price rather than looks. Comfort and safety features too are in the top of their league. Their Speedairo is a bit more conventional in looks and a bit cheaper but an amazing lid for when one does not want to scream aero..

Casco stuff is pretty heavy. Mainly due to added reinforcements. Think that puts folk off a bit.

Just ordered a POC octal mips for roadie douche duties. I have the trabec for off road already.

I dont use a helmet but want to start, what is the most compact? I've seen Kask mojito and that looks compact, is there anything compact-er?
-
• #821
The Lazer Z1 is a very compact helmet, from all my previous ones (Mavic plasma, Orbea Odin, Giro Air Attack) this is loads more streamlined, light and the adjustment on top of the helmet is awesome.
-
• #822
You dont want more compact than a mojito.
They're being phased out so very cheap atm.
-
• #823
Quite a round fit, so if you have a narrower bonce they'll rock from side to side.
-
• #824
Try loads, you won't know which brand fits your head until you try them on.
Why don't you use a helmet?

Anyone after a cheap Synthe?
I bought it online without trying one on because my Air Attack fit so well and I thought the shape would be the same. It isn't...
I've been wearing it for about 5 months (mainly with a cap cos it was a bit wide for my noggin) and I've found that the Bell Star Pro fits my head 666 times better. So it's up for sale.
There are some tiny scuffs from general use (mainly from hanging it up on the wall when I'm not wearing it and something brushing past it and there is a little fault with the roc loc system from wear and tear. The bit that fits on the occipital lobe has come away from the bit of plastic that houses the dial. This has no effect on it when in use, just a minor annoyance as it's loose when you're not wearing it. I've emailed zyro to see if the replacement part is available in the UK (I've found it for $25 in the US and I've asked them how much it would cost to send to the UK too.) and I've attached a pic highlighting what part of the roc loc system I'm talking about. I haven't got round to taking pics of the actual helmet yet.
Anyway, due to all that, I'm only asking for a bargainous £80 for a super slippery, super stealth, badass aero helmet. If I get an answer from Weber or Zyro and it makes sense for me to buy the replacement part, then I'll probably stick it on ebay or something for a bit more cash as it'll be as good as new.
