Def not! I think I must have listened to hundreds of songs with 'where xxxxxx...' in the title today.
I bet it's not even the right lyric.

Peter Sarstedt - Where do you go to my lovely?
After that I'm out. If only we could hear it we'd be able to help. -

Ha!
That told you Gran' Pappy.

• #73808
Eh? What's that you say?

Austin I think now runs the Belfast bicycle workshop. If its the same Austin. Bbw is back of botanic :)
-
• #73810
Probably not too many Austins in the bike game in Belfast, glad to hear he's still in the business.

Doing a bike vs car vs bus/tube race tomorrow. What colour base layer goes better with the forum jersey, black or white?
-
• #73812
Depends on the lighting.

What inner cables should I use with shimano 11spd? Plain steel, polymer or ptfe?
-
• #73814
I've just installed the polymer on my new bike and they're amazing, don't know how much difference the SP41 outer makes, but clean, smooth shifts are nice compared to the tortuous sloppy shifts on my old 10 speed 105 with steel cables.

i had a polymer cable snap in the shifter on me yesterday (though previously steel ones have done the same to me)
the polymer ones are not cheap - £17 rrp. PTFE a little cheaper. as its for the daily use commuter bike i think its probably worth investing in the polymer ones again (but £17 for a fucking cable...)

does anyone have a Focus Mares AX Commuter and have any strong opinions on it? I saw one on the commute to work this morning and it looked brilliant, and at c.£800 if it's any good then it's be well in the running as a gf's new bike. Also, if you do have one, does it weigh the same as the moon?

How do Northwave mtb shoe sizes compare to Mavic?

Can I use a 9mm thru-axle in a fork designed for 9mm quick release?

Can I use a 9mm thru-axle in a fork designed for 9mm quick release?
Yes, with either a simple 9mm threaded rod and some track nuts, or with a DT 9mm RWS skewer.

Seen it in flesh (in nicer colourway) at Velo House and saw it in Kent lanes last weekend without guards and strada bianca roadie disguise .. 10/10
-
• #73821
yeah, looks brilliant, especially with the new tiagra shifters. I'll go hunt one out at the weekend for a test ride.

Swift cycles may have some
-
• #73823
Cheers, ordered the DT 9mm skewer. Already have the hub conversion caps, so good to go.

Just make a point of telling everyone it's a £17 cable, will get more than your money worth that way.
-
• #73825
Make a purring noise every time you shift. When people ask why, its a great opportunity both to extoll the virtue of a £17 cable and identify the cost of happy shifting.
I don't like it that this is what I thought of, but is it Bieber?
