@vello I was initially concerned about my outpost front rack but it held up fine under medium load across the crater strewn roads of the balkans. I probably had 15kg on it at one point and it held up fine.

The surly is meant to be better, more sturdy, but more expensive and heavier.

I think they've done this so it's easy to remove the hub, as a service requires the hub being sent back to Taiwan, the bearings are pressed in with a 1 ton hydraulic press, so are not user serviceable.

Still probably easier to unbuild the wheel.

Will convert Surly to fixed I think and maybe put some swept backs on it with a porteur. Elephant will be for audax and shit. The only thing that will make me take my name off the list is if I can figure out how to get a Genesis Datum.
