Is there any substance to this claim or just urban myth?
As far as I understand this stems from the fact that the rails of the Flite saddle is moved all the way to the back of the saddle. So in order to 'counteract' this and establish a more normal (?) saddle position, you 'need' a setback seatpost.
I can certainly agree that esthetically it doesn't work (for me), but that's obviously subjective.

I have a black Control Tech (correct period one, it's on the Attitude right now) which I can swap onto the Criterium if the position doesn't work.
I will admit to simply wanting to match the post to the stem.

fork-hub connection?
I bet there are magnets involved :-) Worth clicking through to the Flickr stream, the back end is even weirder.

Looks kind of like a unicycle interface at the front.

Can anyone explain how that wheel thing works?
-
• #95885
i assume...the black disc you can see on the wheel is the bearing, which is bolted onto the hub body (the little silver disc in the middle). The discs on the forks then slot over this bearing (possibly by bending the fork legs out to get the wheel on). This would allow you to use larger, and presumably smoother, sealed bearings than having them inside the body of the hub
