  • Wow... Such sad news

    :-(

    Rip kind man!

  • Reej

  • Really sorry to hear this. I didn't know him as well as many on here, but as others have said he was one of those who made the world a better place with what he did.

    RIP

  • IN!
I'm at work, and I'm in pieces after reading this thread. Can't stop crying. Had great times with Wayne at West, South's, Bright Times, he was always someone I could ask a favour of, bounce an idea off, or just sit and chill for a while.
He drew up the idea for my 2nd tattoo, so I'll always have a reminder of him, but I'd rather have him back to be able to give a hug to, and just be...

See you slackers at the reej tonight to raise one for Wayne...

  • Oh no....

    What sad news...

    What a great bloke...

My favourite Wayne memory is being passed by him on my way to Dunwich a few years ago. He was with the CS Grupetto massive, we chatted along the lanes of deepest darkest Essex until the inevitable dropping of me by him occurred. Only for us to be re-united again at Dunwich where the CS massive shouted 'do a skid' in unison - the ultimate LFGSS welcome to Dunwich !

Peace and love to his family and friends.

    Brother Wayne....

  • RIP, sad when anyone goes.

  • Reej.

  • What a tribute. I would be lucky to be so highly regarded by so many. Ride In Peace.

    Love.

  • Much missed. RIP BDW.

  • Damn. Wayne was a genuinely nice, fun, happy, clever guy who brought nothing but joy into the world. Hadn't seen him since he stopped playing polo, but will miss him nonetheless.

The world sucks a bit more without you, gaffer. RIP BDW.

  • He was a truly lovely, friendly bloke- no pretention whatsoever. And he will clearly be really missed by many. RIP Wayne x

  • Very sad to hear this news :(

  • It’s hard to add to all the wonderful things that have already been said – so much love for Wayne! He made lovely screen prints and once spent an afternoon talking me through his portfolio (over very good cofffeee) at his place, so that I could select some for an exhibition. In the end we included three of his brilliant, bold wrestling masks, one of which was his avatar on here for so long. Wayne was a creative, genuine, kind human and he will be missed dearly.

  • Can someone post a monkey.jpg please?

  • Cwch up everybody. All the Grumpets and all the polos and all the rest.

  • So sad.
Wayne was literally the first person from the forum that I met. I rocked up to West polo one day, to see what the craic was, and met BDW, Aram, Jenne, pip and various others.
Such a lovely guy. You will be missed. X

  • One of the most decent, witty & warm men it has ever been my pleasure to share a road or a coffee with. And a proper bike rider too. Miss you already.

  • Proper gutted about this…
Can't be at the reej but hope to see some of you soon to raise a glass.
Hard to say RIP when it feels unjustly early…seen too many good folk die young, and Wayne was a truly good man.

  • Can't remember where I met him and remember being a bit intimidated by the beard. Reminded me of Charles Bronson. Such a nice and friendly person to chat too.

He wasn't that old, ride free.

My condolences to his family and friends.

  • It's just terrible to lose Wayne, to sudden death of all things. I'm sure he was younger than me, too. Such a lovely man. I respected him hugely and he was a major reason why it's such a great forum. I always thought of him as having excellent judgement and much wisdom, with him usually being a few steps ahead, one of the people the world relies on.

Everything he designed for the forum is a classic and even if nobody had ever met him that alone would have ensured he was going to be remembered. He seemed to have this instinctive understanding of design that I imagine few can match--pitching it just right, never over-designing, making the things he did easily understandable while still making them look good. (In saying that, I can't claim any particular design competence, but it all worked for me and I tried to learn from him--so much stuff gets designed and Wayne's work always stood out.)

I'll miss you much, big chimpmaster, may you find not only the grup(p)etto but the best gruppo in the sky.

  • Very very sad to hear....RIP

  • Deeply saddened by this news. Too many great westies have left us recently.
