My Condor Italia pub bike is Alu with a carbon fork and it's one of the comfiest bikes I own (I've got very high end steel, comfort carbon and big tyred cross) - might be to do with the cheap padded saddle, bendy old handbuilt wheels, flat pedals and trainers and worn out 28c contis though.
