The little button on the side of the Flex Hose just releases the pressure inside the hose, it's not a shortcut to avoid screwing the hose on the valve.

The button is designed to prevent the valve core from being unwound by the pressure in the hose :)

Design does not always equal function, those pesky valve cores are just begging for the freedom of the hardcore, rubble and who knows what/who buried beneath our decking.

I think I left one by the track at Battle on the Beach last year.

Another spare part I carry at all times when offroading...
