  • Early 90s Dawes tandems for a start...
    I think it's when they use thicker wall tubing on the tandem framesets as well as on the 531ST tubing too.
    It's possible to ream them if you need or turn down your favourite seatpost on a lathe.
    Edit: it would seem Kona had a thing for them too.

  • Cheers - just seen some nice, cheap 27.0 posts on the bay and wondered what it was all about. I mean, I know they exist but I just thought "why was someone making slightly thicker-walled tubesets than regular 531 in the 90s?"
