Seeing a chiropractor for a few weeks now after various back niggles for a few months. After the first visit I thought all had been fixed but ever since then I'm waking up in considerable pain at about 6am every morning. Take a couple of nurofen and I can get back to sleep for another hour or so. Am generally a bit stiff at other times of day but if I'm active it's fine. Occasionally the pain spreads more into chest and feels a bit numb like nerve compression. Tends to be worse on the left side.
I'm also fine sat at a desk and lying in other positions on couches etc. It's only when I've been asleep for some hours. If I had to get up early it would be great as I can normally sleep through anything but this is a pain the arse (or back to be precise). Have another visit with chiro on Thursday (a different one as first is on holiday). Have also booked in an appointment with GP (2 weeks wait, thanks Jeremy).
I moved house and lots of lugging boxes and straining to reach places to sand/paint etc but this was a month or two ago now and worse back pain didn't start until after visiting chiro.
I have a new bed (but had it for a month or two before first seeing chiro and didn't have the waking up in the night thing prior to first chiro visit) but same (latex) mattress as before.
New house means work surfaces in kitchen where I spend a lot of time are lower so I'm hunching in the evenings.
