  • Really shocked and sad. His warmth, energy and kindness will be sorely missed.

  • Awful awful news. Rest in peace. X

  • Sad news. A warm generous guy and one of the real doers of the forum, one to make things happen. Thoughts are with those who knew him well.

  • Absolutely gutted :( RIP Wayne

  • When I first met Wayne it was to sell him a wensleydale for the grumpy track day, and I asked if I could pop along on a club run. I've been a proud grump ever since. He would often pop by the shop and a coffee at the 'club house' was always the best way to round off a ride, even though I rarely did. I count him as a friend, and wished to know him better, but am glad to have known him at all.

  • Terrible news. I didn't meet him, but wish I had. His humour and personality were obvious from his posts and he has clearly touched the lives of many here.

    Ride in peace dude!

  • Any funeral details would be greatly appreciated.
His last tweet to me, by the way, was under the hashtag MorrisseyKitchen:
    "Girlfriend in a Korma"
Funny sod! I'll miss his puns.

  • First met Wayne at (I think) the second ever West Beers. An absolute legend. So glad I could call him a friend.

    RIP Boss.

  • Awful news. Thoughts with friends, family and those who knew him far better than I. #RIPBDW

  • This is fucked.
One of the true OGs of the forum and one of the first people that I met from way back. South drinks, West drinks, Velodrome days, polo matches - no matter where it was I could always rely on him for hip-hop chat, font and design banter and of course plenty of bike perving.
RIP Gaffer - you will be sorely missed.

  • A huge loss. Thoughts to all those that loved him.

    RIP x

  • a good mate. and a massive part of my london life. hurts to think that he wont be around next time we visit. an exceptional individual.

    we'll miss ya my friend

  • Very sad to hear this. He was such a great guy and always had such a smile on his face. Terrible news.

  • Sad news. Only met him once when I bought a 'Cutters' T-shirt from him. He seemed like a lovely bloke. Ride in peace Wayne.

  • Such sad news. BDW was one of the nicest guys around. I met him through bike polo in early 09. He brought so much goodness to the community. A great loss for all those who knew him. X

  • A man of gentle soul, kind in word and deed with a timeless style. And with excellent taste in all things Luchador.

Happy to have known you and proud to number you amongst my friends.

    Chapeau Wayne. Ride well. Courage!

  • Speechless. :(
    We love you Wayne.

  • Isn't fair that someone who had such a positive effect on those around him is taken way before time.
    Rip Wayne.

  • He supplied our vestigial polo team some pipes for mallet heads. Sawed them up in his lunch break at work. I used to confuse him with rik. Such a sweet man. Ride on BDW

  • I am absolutely gutted by this news.

Wayne was a true OG in every way. The first time I met him was at the BFI showing of L'Enfer du Nord, probably back in '08. I'd forgotten my wallet and he paid my entrance fee even though he didn't know me from Adam.

He was kindness, he was style, he was fun.

I saw him last a couple of months ago on Theobald's Road in the pouring rain. Of course he stopped and chatted despite the weather. It never rained on Wayne.

    RIP Viking of the Serpentine.

  • Shocking and terrible, RIP BDW

  • strong textReally, awful news. First time I've cried for years...

One of the first forumongers I met way back in '06/'07 and of course enjoyed his company on numerous rides and LFGSS socials.
Hadn't seen him for a while until just before Christmas when I popped into LMNH to buy a coffee, we had a brief chat and wished each other all the best. He asked about my little boy as we'd often see him in there when I took my son to nursery and we'd pop in for a croissant beforehand.
I just told my little boy that 'Wayne, the big man with the beard, we used to see before nursery has just died'

'Why daddy, is he in heaven now?'

    'Yes he is'

    Sleep well big man 🙏🏼

  • I was trying to remember my first meeting with Wayne, I'm pretty sure it was at The Ship on an early-summer afternoon in 08. They truly were, the halcyon days of yore.

I'm going to take a moment to remember other lost Westies @50/14 and @dmczone too.

  • The viking pictures.
