I need to work on my shouting. Last time I shouted after somebody who's chain came off on his fixed (had nut spanner with me for him) didn't notice me, this time somebody with a flat walked past and I shouting "I've a puncture kit"...no result.
Need shouting skills or stalking skills... :/

No incidents.
Very quiet. -

Are you just shouting these things as you fly past them? That might be the problem...

Hungry people...
Over didn't it on the chillies in the curry last night, made for a very uncomfortable commute in.

Was told I was a fucking moron who 'wants everything'.
This should be written on bog walls in hip bars abut the LFGSS. If only we were still graffito-worthy.

I wouldn't say I was flying...maybe 10mph as it's a corner with 0 visibility.
We were both on a sustrans shared path. I guess stopping is the way...

Advice please peeps
Sauntering to work this morning and rear ended a merc that indicated to take a corner but slammed on brakes way before the junction instead. I realise that I should have left more braking distance but the road seemed to disappear before I rear ended his boot door leaving a big scratch. Upon inspection my front brake cable had separated in the caliper hence why I didn't slow.
Swapped deets with the driver, it's a company car, but the guy is insisting I need to pay.
Legally where do I stand? Should I solicitor up?
Ruined a good commute too, right glute properly smarts and I'm feeling really sorry for myself 2/10

Today some cyclists against traffic flow too on a non segregated one way lane. Sigh.
I guess cos the highway code states when walking its better to face traffic?

o don't even get me started on bikes coming at me...
-

ideally you should have insurance to cover these issues. it sounds from your description that it was your error, if so pay up. all a solicitor will do is charge you money and you will still have to pay up.
unless you have recently had your bike serviced and your bike shop fucked your brakes up

Somebody I know just got bike-jacked on Surrey Canal Path. Careful out there peeps.
-
• #11017
Yes, unfortunately that's your fault from your description. As James says, it's good to have third-party insurance for this sort of issue. Shameless spam, but of course it's included in LCC membership:
http://lcc.org.uk/pages/enjoy-cycling-peace-of-mind
(Too much of a well-kept secret still. If you're an LCC member, as an additional bonus you can be insufferably smug to any drivers who shout at you that you're not insured.)
You can also go the whole hog:

Well, ask yourself this question - if you had to stop suddenly while riding your bike, and a car driver drove into the back of you because his or her brakes weren't working, would you think it's the driver's fault?
-
• #11019
Ok guys, I'll sort it with the lcc, good job I got a membership for Xmas huh!
-
• #11020
Ah, excellent!

• #11021
Tough news mate, hope you get it sorted.

Something I've spotted fairly regularly since coming to London, commuters in SPD shoes, with flat pedals....whats up with that?
-
• #11023
Perhaps they have those pedals that could appear to be flats not spd, but in fact are both?
-
• #11025
I have those two-sided pedals because you can use SPDs or normal shoes.
Very functional, much polyvalent, so commuting.
They also help if, for example, you leave you cycle shoes at work and only realise two minutes before you're supposed to leave the house to lead a club group ride, so you have to then take your SS commuter instead of your "proper" road bike.
I see a fair bit of runners in Belfast on the cycle lane...even though there's a perfectly nice kerb.
Confusing :)
