  • I had a chat with my neighbour the other day who is on the Spurs fans committee. Apparently the club have cancelled all the affordable housing on the new stadium site citing lack of finances. So it will only be luxury housing. In Haringey. Good one.

  • was reading about it, it's something to do with the viability of the project, for them to be financially able to include social housing they have to be making a certain percentage of profit, if they don't hit that, the number of social houses goes down, in this case to nothing...

  • It's well known that developers fiddle the stats on viability assessments because councils lack the expertise and legal backup to challenge them. I have no doubt that Spurs are shafting their own community on this. I'd be surprised if these flats cost more than £250-300/sqft to build (ex. land costs etc), they will be sold on the market for at least three times that amount (although now the government has deemed an 'affordable' house is £450k I doubt many developers will be charging less than that from now on)
