Suzue Pro-Max SB 36h hub set (NOS)

Posted on
  • Bought a set of "NOS" Suzue Pro-Max SB hubs off of eBay, and because it's eBay bought sight unseen, they have their issues unfortunately. Mechanically, they're absolutely perfect, bearings are smoother than silk, and the axles are straight and true with zero issues, the problems come with the decals, the front hub decals are off centre, the decals on the rear hub have some creases in them, and the central decal on the rear hub isn't quite straight. I suffer from a minor case of OCD, and this really seems to set me off.
I paid £160 for the set (plus shipping) and I'm willing to part with them for £120, but I'm willing to negotiate (I may consider splitting for the right price). Shipping will be extra, so I would prefer either collection from west London, or I can arrange to meet you somewhere in central London to do the deal. Drop me a PM with any questions

(Pictures will be uploaded as soon as I can)

  • Pictures as promised

  • I've just checked the decals on mine and they're not straight either :/, if it makes you feel better.
Might be interested in the front one if you end up splitting.

  • I wouldn't mind too much if it was that they weren't straight, it's more the fact that they're a little creased that gets to me, but it's good to know that whoever was in charge of putting the decals on took so much pride in their work

  • Yes, that is a shame. If the condition of the decals was not mention or pictured, you might be able to send them back for a refund. They are obviously new but not cosmetically perfect.

  • I would send them back, but I bought them from Japan hoping that they'd be better quality/looked after than if I bought them in the UK... I was mistaken. It'll cost too much to ship them back, so I'll barely get any money in return, just hoping that I can sell them on to someone who it'll bother a little less.

  • @Not_Bruce Great price!

  • Dibs front if you're willing to split.

  • I would prefer to sell as a pair, rather than on their own. DM me an offer and I'll see how I feel @Not_Bruce

  • DM me an offer for the front, I'll see what's what ;) @ElGato

  • The decals on my rear are creased as well. Looks like QC at suzue wasn't that great!

  • @Trunkie, how badly creased? Because mine looks like it was creased and someone tried to restick them...

  • Creased so that a few areas sit proud of the surface, so that road crap gets underneath it!
Wonder if anyone sells replacement decals?

  • Dibs. PM coming

  • Undibs

  • @Trunkie I talked directly to Suzue as well as their distributors, I couldn't find anyone that sold decals, so you'd have to get them custom made :/

  • would be a good idea. Lots of deceased stickers on hubs on the NJS Export, rekon there could be high demand.

  • Undibs

  • That's exactly what I was thinking @HHC, but as it turns out, there's zilch out there :(

  • losing 40 quid because of creasing stickers. hell if something describes first world problems...

may I suggest you get rid of the stickers? voila, nothing to od ocd about and just ride them to the ground.

  • stickers are the main appeal to the hubs doe. They're sparkly!!

  • well its the drive side. no one will notice. i mean. its an od of ocd in my book
