  • I've just had a look and mine is actually '0', so the shim is flat, not angled. I guess it doesn't matter then - or I could just use a normal flat top cap in place of the angled one.

  • So Lezyne is a bad thing?

  • Fair play.
I'd suggest you use a flat one, for the same reason they provide an offset one if you used the angled shims. The thread in your star nut/bung (and probably steerer) will thank you.

  • lost a little screw from the strap of my garmin 920 today, anyone know if its posible to get one without buying a whole strap/band or QR kit?

Didn't you get a QR kit with your 920xt tri bundle? I did, mine's going spare if you're already using yours.

  • Is it my eyes or has the forum font changed to darker and bolder on my iPhone? I feel like I'm tripping...

  • Yeah, it's changed on desktop too

  • Cheers, thought I'd overdone something. Or needed glasses.

  • I don't like it.

  • Stooge frames any good? I might be interested in a Stooge Titanium B+/29.

  • Back in the "good old days" hitting the backspace key in Firefox would take me back to the previous page, and to the position that I had been at on that page (still with me ?). Now it just takes me back to the top of that previous page, so then I have to tab down to where I was before !?

Have I done sumit stoopid, or has the web changed it's ways. Ta for any help.

PS, is there a way, when in Google search mode, to set the colour of links already followed to be red, or green or some colour that actually looks different from the standard black / blue combo.

  • The Topeak work the longest in our shop, but to be honest we had not got one that didn't failed after extensive usage (usually 4-6 months).

  • that's really kind, but Garmin have said they'll send me one.

really rate the QR kit, makes the watch a little bulky, but makes switching it between swim, run and biking really simple...

  • Most people that own them seem to like them (see the Stooge thread on STW) and get very defensive when people who don't like them say that (see the response to the review of the Stooge thread on STW...)

Friend rode and reviewed one of the standard ones, didn't really get on with it for the type of riding he does, but thought it'd be fun for crashing around in the woods and stuff.

  • Mrs Ratty presented me with a bit of a tricky one at the weekend. She races on a Cervelo S5 and has a Croix de Fer as her winter trainer/commuter/pub bike. Given she is pregnant and due in July, she wants to get rid of the current bikes and get one do it all model. She wants it to be:

    1. able to take a baby seat on the back (so rack mounts useful/clearance for big tyres)
    2. reasonably light and fast for when she wants to get back into training
    3. compatible with our Wahoo Kickr for when she feels like getting back on that.

I think discs would be good (given doesn't need to be race legal and the need for big tyres) but the Kickr apparently hits problems with rotors smaller than 160mm.

Was thinking Genesis Datum, but the thru-axel would potentially be a pain on the Kickr, so standard QR might be best. Any ideas v welcome as I'm coming up a bit short! Thanks!

  • Datum is QR at the back...

  • Ah, I missed that thanks! Might be a reasonable option then....

  • Thanks, I'll have a look. What kind of riding did your friend do?

I plan on doing some not too technical XC riding and maybe set it up for off-road touring in the future.

  • Thanks.

cant resist. do they make pumps for deflating these days?

  • What brakes are these?

  • Shimano Tiagra R463

  • Shimano Tiagra R463

90mm arms! So technically Mini V no? They look eerily similar to CX9s ..

Anyone here tried them with drop bar/road levers?

  • Yep, designed to be road bar compatible. Never tried them, but they're V brakes - it's a stick with a brake pad bolted to it. Difficult to imagine that Shimano could manage to fuck that up.

  • Has the Nitto S65 ever been made in black dia 27.0?

Not a turbo fan of the new ritchey 27.0 setbacks, but that's what it may have to be :)

  • able to take a baby seat on the back (so rack mounts useful/clearance for big tyres)

Surly Big Dummy, partly for the puntastic name

  • Was thinking Genesis Datum.

    No.

It's carbon, steer away from it if you want to carry babies.
