Who actually cares about weight for a singlespeed beater commuter off roader at that price?
Weight is reassuring.
That's what she said...

One thing you made me realised is that the majority of singlespeed/fixed wheel bicycles are not very light to begin with, usually between 9-10kg.

Fair enough, although i wouldn't be disappointed if i brought one.
what about a steamroller? I love mine for commuting

If you actually wanna do any cross racing, a heavy bike suuuucks
-
• #106031
tidy beater, what tyres?
-
• #106032
I can imagine, hence why there was no mention of cross racing.

Steamroller is definitely on the list,
Now to move the bianchi first, before the "project" can start :)

How many cogs? Normal chainring?
-
• #106040
This custom frame I'm talking maybe around 200-300 including surly disc trucker fork.
I can't believe that you can beat that deal by going OTP. I would definitely go that route.

39t on the front. Something to 32t cassette.
It's an 8 speed drivetrain from an atb I updated to 10spd.Normal chainring, but I luckily got the chainline spot on. I'm not wilding with this bike so I doubt ill be dropping the chain. Anyway I'm planning on putting a double on the front.

I was sure I was going to get the new Chorus 11s gruppo for my Ti project, but now that I need to put the order in the doubt sets in. :(
Main reason for Chorus was the look, not fond of the DA look on Ti. Would like something black, so maybe get 6800 but some other kind of cranks.
Oh the agony...
-
• #106044
or 105 for true black LOL
-
• #106045
Do it. Chorus is ace! (although new 4 arm cranks are ugly...)
-
• #106046
What's the UCI min weight limit again? ;)
PS no word from baik shop. Will need to ring me thinks...
-
• #106047
fuck it, lets go Chorus. the 4-arm will just have to do.
-
• #106048
FSA do a nice black crank.
-
• #106049
You can always remove the white decals https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/251045/ from the cranks

No need to remove decals for this build, Campagnolo is pimp.
Would remove decals if SR tho
Mash work? The hipster tax is too high on that :)

@TM bit limited on OTP choice around here, other than the big brands like specialized or giant, even then only the road and mountain models.
