I haven't tried it with anything longer than 85mm but it technically works with everything. It's genuinely great as it removes the need for a joystick and you can use it with back button focus too.
Would be great if they brought it back but the main issue would be precision, seeing as current cameras have 60-100 AF points. It would work really well for group af selection at least.
Wanted to try that just for shits and giggles ever since I read Ken Rockwell rave about it.
Wonder why they didn't continue developing this though!
When shooting portraits can it really see the difference whether you're looking straight ahead or at one of the eyes (would this work with longer lenses and shallow depth of field)?
