  • '+' facing forward. The top cap has an offset bolt hole, so you'll want the extra space (indicated by the +) at the front and the reduced space at the back.
    If you look at your picture you can see by the shim at the bottom it's tipped back (to increase rise) and has the - at the front.

    " NOTE: Use an offset top cap, with the top cap hole located to match the position of the shim, so that the top cap hole is in line with the steerer tube plug
    threads. "
    I guess if you sight through the top cap and check the hole lines up with the thread then you should be ok.

  • I've just had a look and mine is actually '0', so the shim is flat, not angled. I guess it doesn't matter then - or I could just use a normal flat top cap in place of the angled one.

  • Fair play.
    I'd suggest you use a flat one, for the same reason they provide an offset one if you used the angled shims. The thread in your star nut/bung (and probably steerer) will thank you.
