I haven't found anything with the 'complexity' in terms of taste/texture that real meat has, although I've eaten a lot of vegan food and meat substitutes. I guess it's not a big deal if you have strong reasons to be vegan but I think for more casual adopters it is important.
I would be interested in any ideas/tips!
As with most of these concepts, there are some people who quite persistently talk about vegan meat, thinking that it's important to widen the concept out. I'd rather they didn't, but it would certainly be good to have new words for all those chunky/chewy things that vegans can eat.
