In general pursuit-style bullhorns can add quite a bit of reach, so depending on what kind of handlebars you are using at the moment it might mean that you also need a shorter stem to keep your position roughly the same. 44cm seems quite wide for me but it depends on your preference and statue (ie. your shoulder width). If you ride in traffic then narrower bars might be more suitable. hope this helps
