Can anyone confirm the rumours that Klopp's not a massive fan of Benteke? He was relatively prolific with Villa - is he just not getting the service from Liverpool's midfield, or is he just lazy. I don't think I've seen him run once.
A bit of both. His service has been woeful. Jordan Ibe is the king of beating his man and having to show the world how good he is by adding extra turns and taking his man on again, all the while the runners in the box re stood waiting and the opposing defenders and back in position . Eventually you lose heart and start taking up different positions and over thinking. Now we're seeing a player that is at a low ebb confidence wise. PErsonally I'd be fining anyone that has the chance to cross early but doesn't. I'd also fine anyone that does that stupid slow, looping dig/cross that again is piss easy for opposition defenders to bat away (Milner). We rarely drive the ball in.

I though that the contract runs to the end of the season. Spurs are responsible for his wages until then no matter what.

It's a shame that Ings got injured. He would have been ideally suited to a high tempo pressing game.
-

He'd just started scoring, too. Origi has something in terms of the way he get behind the opposition lines and carrying the ball.
Interesting watching the getter dwelling press are trying to create a narrative that Sturridge doesn't wanna play. Whilst Liverpool have amongst the lowest conversion rates in the league, we're the top creators...Why would any prolific striker just choose to sit and watch?!
I hope fans aren't too brain dead and end up calling for him to be shifted on. Like the manager, he is the best we can possibly hope for right now and just needs time.

There were some reports from the WHU faithful that our extensive list of players who'd picked up injuries during training was as a result of the pitch over at Chadwell Heath.
Everything was shifted over to the youth academy training ground in Rush Green and whilst the injury situation improved no end, the players did their conkers because the facilities aren't quite what they're used to.
It doesn't help matters that Rush Green is the quintessential shit hole - it makes Tottenham look desirable.

Its all well and good saying this but there comes a point where you have to say enough is enough. Yes he has the best strike record of any Liverpool striker, but if he just can't be relied upon then what is the point in keeping him?

had a discussion with another spurs fan in here, and he's of the same mind as you...
thought we'd brought him out, but in fact we just put him on layaway...
suppose that means we can continue to veto him going to West Ham.. -

Adebayor?
WHU don't need him.

So you're saying for the team that barely scores, get rid of the highest scorer? Get rid of a player that offers a different dimension? You do see how we get bullied at set pieces because BR saw fit to create one of the league's smallest squads?
You should be questioning the brain dead tactics of why we break so quickly only to have the likes of Lallana/Ibe/ recently Coutinho take too many touches and kill off any momentum built. Ask why you never see the kind of balls put into the box where the attacker only has to direct it because there is a proper pace/flight on the ball. That is food and wine for Benteke...or have you forgotten how many times he's scored like that against us?
If we sell him, we lose a fuckton of dough...again and he'll continue to be one of the highest scorers against Liverpool because of a lack of patience.

West Ham are exactly the type of team that do need him. He has talent, no one has ever doubted that, he's just a lazy fucker. At the moment no one will touch him for a proper contract but you can get 6 months of him working hard to put himself in the shop window and he could be the difference that gets you into Europe. Makes more sense than Palace who surely should be looking for long term consolidation.

We had a bloke called Ravel Morrison who we assumed we could help after SirAlex dispensed with his services, but he was a lazy fucker who also had some rather serious psychological issues as well.
-
• #123388
I forgot about him.
He's at Lazio!?
-
• #123389
We released him.
Couple of training ground tear-ups with established first team players as well as getting shit-faced and causing problems in the delightful night spots of Romford put pay to his career with us.
Plenty of moments of genius and overhead goals scored during training sessions though...

Different issues all together. You offer to help Spuds out with some of his wages to the end of the season, under no obligation, after which he is a free agent. He wants to bee seen so he can get a decent new job so will work for that long. He's a lazy fucker but only once he's got his feet under the table and knows he can't be shifted easily. Perhaps he might even be older, wiser and humbler enough now to knuckle down and get on with using his talent. Bit like Anelka did at West Brom.

Still not entirely convinced that Slav'll be interested.
Depends on what the bash mag boys are prepared to cough up.

Fergie name check Morrison a couple of times in Leading. Pretty much says he had too much shit in his life and was such a bad influence that he had to let him go, despite being the most talented player he'd seen at that age.
You can understand why you lot took a punt on him

• #123393
I can also understand why we took a punt on him, but how BFS thought he could do what Bloodnose couldn't is a total and utter mystery.
-
• #123394
Agree.
Think the hope was that getting him out of Manchester might do the trick. But once a total cnut alway a total...

• #123395
And now he's in Rome which is full of wrong'uns.
