That's what I thought, thanks. Even if you did run discs, the chain tensioner means the wheel doesn't move when switching gear ratios so it's not a problem....it's just a bit ugly
If you're going custom you'd probably want the bike to look nice at the end...
If SSCX/mtb: to avoid it getting clogged up with mud and ripping itself off.
