  • Did you wheelee up hills?

  • Very nice. Agreed, navy, silver and tan walls looks classy.
Could you not lower the rear rack a little?

  • Waiting on a Tubus Tara low rider. Had to use a spare for now and had no front rack.. So yeah, wheelied up hills..

  • Very nice. Lovely colour.

  • Pfft. And who placed them like that eh?!

  • Plus front rack / no longer doing wheelies everywhere..

  • Lookin good. Spot on for intended purpose. It's a credit to you.

  • Looks awesome, did you go for 28's Panaracers in the end?

  • @Fahrgestell Yup, sure did. Thanks - riding it to Copenhagen next week!

  • @speculoos Nice build! What's that rear rack?

  • @Lieven_De_Vlaminck Thanks buddy! Rear rack (in the older pics) was a Tubus Fly that I was using temporarily from another bike - it was awful having the weight so high and heavy on the rear for that trip..

I've just got that Carradice QR bag the back now with a Tubus Lo Rider rack on the front. I've got to work what kinda luggage/weight distribution I want for the next trip - Oslo to the Arctic Circle in July! Might give Alpkit frame bags a go.

  • So for a frame that was never intended to carry lots of weight, you really do feel having the panniers out front help rather than on the rear ? It's fashionable sure but you feel it's better?

  • Am wondering the same thing.

  • @Phyllis I've only ever tried it out with this set up so far, and rode to Copenhagen in the summer with two small pannier bags on the front + carradice and tent on the rear. And it was absolutely fine. Wouldn't say it "helped" or is necessarily better, but I had no problems at all. It rode nicely, and i don't have a rear rack to compare (sold the Fly now).. I guess I wasn't carrying much weight!
