  • Thinking about heading up on Saturday, and have a couple of questions:

    1. Is the whole area still underwater or not
    2. With heavy rain forecast on Friday morning, what condition would roads typically be in by Saturday? Lots of water hanging around or could clear? Massive puncturefest?
  • Whereabouts? Most places will be fine, the roads tend to drain really quickly. I don't think it's
been flooded of late, that's mainly Cumbria

  • Peak District was never really underwater. That was the Lakes and the Dales. Any heavy rain in winter can cause a bit of localised flooding but not enough to stop you getting a decent ride in.

The main issue is the recent snow and freezing mornings. Its cause a bit of road damage so be mindful of potholes, particularly on fast sections. As ever in winter, it'll be prudent to stick to some of the more main roads as lanes tend to get pretty filthy.
