  • Just got new SPD shoes and I cannot clip into my m520s, the well is the same width as my other shoes, is it just a case of beercan shimming?

  • Nevermind cut up a cd spindle case into a triangle drilled the center out and good as new. Shimtastic

  • LCC or British Cycling, any reason to favour one over another?

It's mainly for the insurance, think I've used some discounts from one or another in the past but no large purchases planned.

  • CTC is also good - I think it's the same as the LCC cover.

  • Nah, the crown had a raised bit which i had removed

  • Where could I buy large (really large) sheets of white card - like 150 x 100 cm?

resubscribes to the you've been indra'd thread.

  • Been looking at a cannondale supersix evo hi-mod frame. Was going with a 63cm but a mechanic friend of mine said I should go with a 58cm instead. I'm 6ft 5 and this bike will be for racing on.

With a long seatpost and stem, can I get away with that size? (60cm is out of stock...)

  • 2016 model or last year?

  • I see what the mechanic is saying, the 58cm have exactly the same reach as the 62cm, with the major different is obviously the handlebar height, the 60cm version is the longest they sell.

If you tend to ride in a race position with a slammed stem on your current bike, then the 58cm may fit you (emphasised on the may), it's really best to try out both model in a shop first.

The slacker seat tube on the 63cm model might be too slack for you if you tend to ride with an inline seatpost.

(all this base on old Supersix and not the 2016 model).

  • Thanks ed, it's a 2015, yeah.

I currently ride a canyon roadlite 64cm with no spacers and saddle fairly high and a setback seatpost, 110mm stem, without much of a rise on it.

  • I vaguely remember the Roadlite have a long head tube in that sizes*, so the 58cm Cannondale might be pretty small, unless you're happy with some spacers/stem flipped.

It's quite likely even the 63cm Cannondale is slightly lower than your Canyon, I can't be certain unless you can obtain the geometry chart for your Canyon Roadlite.

  • Back to the running thread with you. #wheelz4realz

  • I think this is from the 2013 model (mind is 2012) but they are quite similar I think.

  • Your is the 2XL?

  • the 2012 one went 62cm/64cm/66cm, so I have to approximate :( Mine is the 64cm.

Sorry, I know that's not ideal.

  • Okay, then it's likely to be the 2XL, which according to the chart have exactly the same reach, but slightly taller than the 63cm Cannondale.

The 58cm model is 55mm lower than your Canyon.

  • And yet my pepper mill is made by Peugeot - that Peugeot.

  • And yet my pepper mill is made by Peugeot

Yeah, but Peugeot have made almost everything over their long history, I think the coffee and pepper mills may have been among their first complete products, as opposed to components for incorporation into other products.

  • Is anyone in Dudley and would collect and post a wheelset to me?

  • Does anyone have a link to a report or quote about the Venge vias bikes having such crap brakes that cav and sagan didnt use them?

I've heard it several places but cant seem to find a source.

  • Caley Fretz (Velonews editor) put it on twitter.

  • I need a set of cables for a 3x8 Shimano Deore XT MTB group from the 90's, where do I start looking for this, or is it the same stuff that Shimano MTB groups use now?

  • Where could I buy large (really large) sheets of white card - like 150 x 100 cm?

A0 is 118.8x84.1cm, but you probably already knew that.
    60 x 40" is roughly 152x102cm.

What kind of card? The thick paper sort, or the board sort. Don't know of anywhere that stocks board bigger than A0.

London Graphics stock A0 mountboard and foamboard.

Fabriano heavyweight paper (200 or 200gsm) and Bockingford etc watercolour papers (300gsm ish) come in rolls 1.5x10m - RK Burt can get them in, Atlantis stock them.

Shepherds (used to be Falkiner Fine Paper) do Somerset 410gsm in 152.5x116cm.

Atlantis stock A0 and 40x60" white foamboard (not really card), Snowdon cartridge 300gsm in 100x140cm and their own "giant" 400gsm paper which is 152x122cm. Archival mountboard goes up to 81x122cm.
