Of course it's true. But to get a Guinness record you have to follow the Guinness rules. None of the other people who've gone further have complied.
I noticed this ages ago when someone said I should have a go at this record that this Bruce bloke didn't actually hold it, he just claimed it based on his Strava account (see the kerfuffle with his Yearly record attempt).

surely that's not true, 133 miles a day? According to strava Steve Abraham has averaged 1,237 mi per week in the last 4 weeks, giving him 4948 miles in the last month
