Yesterday the mud was so thick it clogged up the bike completely on several occasions meaning I had to walk and drag the bike to firmer ground as the wheels wouldn't even turn.
Today it was so cold all the mud that I hadn't bohered to clean off had frozen meaning I had to pour warm water over the brakes and chain before I could go anywhere and the brakes were crap at best. This was not helped by ice forming on my rims after going through a few puddles.
Had ice in the beard when I got to work and my fingers are still numb at the tips after an hour in the office.
On the plus side I did see a tufted duck chick though, which is a first for me.
