  • I'm dreadful at keeping hydrated whilst riding.

On multi-day things like PBP/LEL I'd drink loads at controls, fill my bottles and then carry the bottles the 90km to the next control without touching them. I'd then drink one whilst stopped and get them refilled, only to carry them untouched to the next control, repeat again and again.

I remember being so so dehydrated (brown wee isn't good) at the halfway control (Holmfirth) on the Midlander Super Grimpeur 300. I drank loads there, topped up my bottles and set off again on the hot day (to climb Holme Moss no less). By Glossop my bottles were empty and I thought "I won't stop at this shop, too early, I'll stop at the next one I see." No more shops of course, and then the route disappears onto minor roads and no more shops were seen until the pub control in Longnor.

As hippy says, needs more info. 750ml doing 200k overnight in cool UK temps would be fine. 750ml for 200k during a summer day and I'd be fucked.
