^ Exactly. Yesterday I drank about 700ml on a 100 mile ride, very hilly etc, but it was 1ºC average and pissing with rain.
When I was in Colorado/New Mexico and it was over 45ºC at midday, I was drinking ~8L per day and covering about 150 miles.
