VATS is from when fallout was an old top down turn based thing, getting that system and AP into an FPS was the genius of fallout 3.

Also you can change your face later in the game.

After finishing Void I wanted another indie game to amuse me when I get bored of FO4 from time to time. Downloaded Ollie Ollie 2 which is a side scrolling, super fast paced skating game using only a few buttons. Much fun, very infuriating.

Speaking of indie games - has Undertale been mentioned here? It really is pretty great.

Even on the easy level Alien Isolation is scaring the fuck out of me.

I gave up on hiding in lockers. Nowadays you'll find me hiding under desks.

^ It's absolutely awesome, need to book a weekend away from civilisation and get through it. Headphones and lights out in the middle of the night is definitely the way to go!

It's not too long. I finished it over three sittings. Very much worth a go.

I have found out that if you need to clear groups of humans in Alien Isolation let them have the first shot. Then run and hide.

The noise attracts the xenomorph who then kills all of them for you.

Yeah but can you imagine if there was a single big Z spawned randomly each server restart into Cherno and there were no release notes to publicise it so you just happened across MEGA Z?

OMG that would be amazing. Maybe. Actually I am not that keen on massive Z as they are not very realistic (I am aware what I am saying there). HOWEVER, a roaming horde would be amazing, imagine one on the coast, maybe 1/25 spawns you spawn with it insight. Or imagine it hitting Cherno/Elektro on a high pop Pvp server, everyone would have to barricade/run/band together. Fuck it, I'm tweeting Dean now...
Also, Fallout, i'm wandering about with a 10mm pistol, havent worked out how to use VATS and getting a bit of a kickin regularly. DO I just follow the square thing on the radar?

Pretty much like the Alienware, which work brilliantly, so no reason why they shouldn't either.

By selecting the box (will show red when you do), as many as you can, and then press E to confrim.

With Ghouls, you best shoot legs, at least focus on one enough to shoot it off as this make it easier to concentrate if there's hordes of them.

Hordes of ghouls are insane in Fallout.

My recent fallout ghoul story:

Got bored the other day doing Minutemen quests and decided to explore Boston just going from nearby undiscovered place to the next. Found the airport and aggro'd a horde of ghouls who ran at me in two packs, one pack followed by a second about 5 secs later.

I had basically no weapons or ammo and hadn't saved the game for ages. I was also carrying too much shit and couldn't sprint away. I had a single frag grenade and about 5 10mm rounds. I spammed some jet and some psycho, threw the grenade, hit Q for VATS, selected the grenade and shot it mid air, it exploded setting blowing off the limbs of all ghouls in the first pack simultaneously setting on fire a nearby car which exploded just as the second pack of ghouls arrived, killing them all except a legendary who was on the floor with no limbs who I beat to death with a pool cue.

Then I saved my game and got fucked by a glowing one.

Yeah, enjoying the ghouls, cheeky little c*nts.
I'm playing on XBox controller so don't have an "E", cheers though, I'll give it a google as it sounds like it might help a lot.
Also, when/how do I start to get better weapons? 10mm pistol is a bit lame. I left my Power Suit at my original house, out the front, as it was out of power...

Are you looting mobs you kill? Are you searching all boxes you come across? There should be guns everywhere. Ammo is the pain. Run out so easily. Don't use the xb controller, get a wireless keyboard if you still want to sit on the other side of the room. So many functions and shortcuts you're missing out on. VATS is vital as you progress (though Mrs cyoa did say 'isn't that just cheating?' I didn't have an answer). Also are you upgrading your perks as you level up?

If you're on medium difficulty, choose hard, as the difference is very small, this will sprawn more legendary enemies, and thus legendary weapon.

You'll need to look at your perks, upgrade the right one allow you to modified your gun, or choose a weapon perks to increase the weapon strength.
