I've used UPS a couple of times for frames and complete groups and Parcel Force for cheaper, individual components.
Neither have let me down, but the reassurance of the man in brown is welcome when larger sums of money are at stake.
I wouldn't recommend the use of a broker (Parcel Monkey etc). I found the extra link in the chain complicated matters considerably when things went awry domestically.

Thanks for that. I'll look in to UPS.

Also, thanks for the information about parcel monkey, because that's the route I was going to take. Doesn't sound worth it now.

They give you their own tracking ref., rather than that of the actual courier and all communication has to go through them.

Finally finishing off my Rychtarski.
It seems the fork crown needs to be faced to allow the caliper brake to sit flush, and the hole at the back of the crown for the recessed allen nut needs to be reamed. I'm assuming this is all possible, but would appreciate someone telling me what the tool is called so I can have an informed chat with a shop or framebuilder.
@spotter didn't you have something similar with a fork that you had built for your big swede fixed?

I've heard good things about bike flights and the prices seem reasonable

I have contrary advice then scilly.
I use parcel2go. cheap, reliable, not a prob.
somewhere back in 2011 (?) one courier managed to bend the track ends of a frame. looked fubard. got all the money back, got to keep the frame, which turned out repairable in the end so free frame.
so only good stories. even with parcelfarce.

If you're talking to a framebuilder, they will know which tool they use for spotfacing, probably just an appropriately sized end mill, and the same (but smaller, obviously) for the counterbore which takes the tube nut.

'spotfacing'
'counterbore'That's what I'm after, ta.

Is he riding a CAAD10/12?
-
• #73515
Not from the look of the rear brake cable entering the frame at the headtube. It's a high evo mod

The latest C10's had that:

Someone recommend me some bib tights to wear over my padded bib shorts when it's super cold like it was today?
The tights thread is not up-to-date and there has been plenty of talk of DHB unpadded roubaix tights in the rapha thread but they don't sell them anymore.
Cheers.

Not over, but under: snug your toes and gooch as well as your legs for pennies...

I need to disable my Skype account, but they're extremely obtuse as I can't find any detail to contact them via email.
Problem is, I don't remember the password, and the email I previously used does not exist anymore.
Do anyone know what email I can use to contact Skype support?
-
• #73522
Skype them?
-
• #73523
It's an inactive account that I don't have access to.
Tweeted them instead.

That sounds cool.

Chris King have renamed all their spacer kits for their BB's
I have a British BB, and am using sram omniums. I think the sprung spacer has lost its spring. What conversion kit do I need? I think it's what they now call no. 13.
Is there a thread for recommended international couriers for bikes? If there is not, has anyone got any recommendations?
