I bought some Sportful Fiandre gloves. Tested them by filling them with water and indeed they seemed waterproof. It was absolutely torrential rain the next day so I decided to go out as I have some other bits and bobs I wanted to test.
The water was hitting my jacket (shiny waterproof type) and pouring down the arms then onto my gloves. In theory that should have been fine, but between the glove itself and the cuff part (both of which are waterproof) there is a join which isn't. As a result the gloves kept filling with water. At one point I had to stop to invert the gloves and tip the water out! In anything other than torrential, I usually wear a softshell type jacket that the water doesn't cascade down my arms as much and in those conditions the gloves are fine. They're warmer than I thought they'd be when I saw them in the shop. At first the fit felt a bit tight on one of my fingers, but after wearing them in a bit they now fit 'like a glove'.
Shame they didn't seam seal the joint thought! Might have a look online and see if I can get some silicon seam sealer or something.
